Get to know ECFD
ECFD is a browser-based workspace for exploring fluid flow around geometry. Prepare a model, configure the simulation domain and solver, and use visual fields and diagnostics to investigate the result. Its WebGPU-based computation lets you explore flow interactively on supported hardware.
Who it’s for
Designers, students and engineers investigating aerodynamic shapes and fluid-flow behavior.
Prepare the geometry
Import an STL or OBJ model, or bring geometry from Draw3D. Inspect geometry-health information and configure the model within the simulation domain.
Configure the simulation
Choose the available subsonic or sonic solver, adjust flow conditions and select resolution settings. Review the estimated memory requirements for your device.
Explore flow fields
Inspect velocity, streamlines, wakes and the fields exposed by the selected solver. Change the view to understand how flow moves around the body.
Review diagnostics
Follow force coefficients and other diagnostics as the solution evolves. Compare shape revisions while checking whether the setup and resolution suit the question you are studying.
A practical path through the work
Load the geometry
Import the model and inspect its placement and geometry health.
Set the conditions
Choose the solver, domain, resolution and flow settings.
Run and investigate
Inspect fields and diagnostics, then refine the setup or shape.
Requires a browser and graphics device with WebGPU support. Simulation fidelity depends on geometry, resolution, boundary conditions and solver assumptions.
